Sources close to the League reported that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, (R-KY) filed a cloture motion yesterday on the BCFP nominee Kathy Kraninger, meaning that the vote will be sometime after Nov. 26.
It seems probable that Republicans won’t have a lot of margin for error, as retiring Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) has indicated that he will oppose many Trump nominees due to his longstanding disagreement with the President. There is also a chance that other defeated moderate Democrats who may have supported Kraninger in the past may now decide to oppose the nomination.
More to come on this story after Thanksgiving.
