The Senate voted Dec. 6 to confirm Kathy Kraninger to lead the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection in a party-line vote, 50 to 49. Kraninger replaces Acting Director Mick Mulvaney, and was approved by the Senate Banking Committee in August. She will serve a five-year term as head of the bureau.
Prior to being announced head of the BCFP, Kraninger served in the Office of Management and Budget and has previously worked in the U.S. Senate and the Department of Homeland Security.
