Both the House and Senate are in session this week. On Monday, the federal government entered its 24th day of the partial shutdown. The Congress continues to negotiate with the president on an agreement to fund the federal government through the end of fiscal year 2019.
The House will also consider H.R. 268, the Supplemental Appropriations Act, legislation to fund disaster relief operations. In addition, the Senate will resume consideration of S. 1, the Strengthening America’s Security in the Middle East Act.
In Committee on Wednesday, the Senate Special Committee on Aging will hold a full committee hearing: “Fighting Elder Fraud: Progress Made, Work to Be Done.”
