It’s a busy week ahead in Washington. In Committee today, important votes are planned, as well as other meetings of note, including most significantly votes to seat NCUA board members:
- The Senate Banking Committee is expected to vote on the nominations of Dr. Mark Anthony Calabria of Virginia to be director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency; Bimal Patel of Georgia to be an assistant secretary of the Treasury; Todd M. Harper of Virginia to be a member of the National Credit Union Administration Board; and Rodney Hood of North Carolina to be a member of the National Credit Union Administration Board. Additional nominees will also be considered.
- The Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee will hold a full committee hearing: “The Semiannual Monetary Policy Report to the Congress.”
- The House Committee on Financial Services will hold a full committee hearing: “Who’s Keeping Score? Holding Credit Bureaus Accountable and Repairing a Broken System.”
- The House Committee on Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Commerce will hold a hearing: “Protecting Consumer Privacy in the Era of Big Data.”
- The House Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government will hold a hearing: “Leveraging Private Capital For Underserved Communities and Individuals: A Look Into Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs).”
Wednesday also will be active with the following on the agenda:
- The House Committee on Financial Services will hold a full committee hearing: “Monetary Policy and the State of the Economy.”
- The Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation will hold a full committee hearing: “Policy Principles for a Federal Data Privacy Framework in the United States.”
- The House Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs will hold a hearing: “Oversight of U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Programs and Policies.”
- The House Committee on Financial Services Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee will convene a hearing: “Diversity Trends in the Financial Services Industry.”
On Thursday, the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee will hold a full committee hearing: “Legislative Proposals on Capital Formation and Corporate Governance.”
