This year’s record-breaking CUNA GAC kicked off Sunday, and the the first full day of sessions Monday featured CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle’s speech, a keynote address from former Secretary of State John Kerry, and an announcement that today’s agenda will include surprise guest speaker Mike Pence, vice-president of the United States.
During the Credit Union House Annual Meeting, LSCU Distinguished Service Award winner David Brock, former president/CEO, Community Credit Union of Florida, was inducted into the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders. After serving 26 years at the helm of Community Credit Union of Florida, Brock retired in February 2018. Upon his retirement, CCU was serving more than 43,000 members with $670 million in assets and consistently in the top 10 percent of high performing credit unions.
More than 200 attendees from Alabama and Florida attended a welcome reception hosted by the League on Sunday evening as they prepped for meetings this week with federal lawmakers.
