adminCUNA will host two advocacy trainings during the month of September. The first will be held on Monday, Sept. 9 and the second on Monday, Sept. 23.
Young professionals (YPs) are the future of the credit union movement and it is critical to stress the importance of advocacy early in this group’s careers. This full-day program teaches the benefits of advocacy, how to build strong relationships with Members of Congress, and best practices for district and Capitol Hill meetings.
The program includes outside speakers, a congressional staff panel, and updates from CUNA and League personnel. The training concludes with an evening reception. The dates in September were selected to correspond with many of League Hike the Hills.
Please identify and invite young professionals from your state to attend these Young Professionals Advocacy Workshops. The training groups will be small and intimate in order to provide an ideal learning environment. Both are limited to only 25 attendees so please encourage potential attendees to register as soon as possible. The training will take place in the Capitol View Room at Credit Union House.
Like previous years, a survey will be sent prior to the training to gauge advocacy knowledge of attendees so that we better understand our audience.
