Five Star Credit Union demonstrates thankfulness by donating food to local shelter
food donationsFive Star Credit Union, headquartered in Dothan, Ala., recently donated more than 175 pounds of food to the Harbor, a local drop-in shelter in Dothan. The staff donated the food as part of the credit union’s annual Thanksgiving pot luck lunch. Staff was encouraged to bring canned food to share with the Harbor. Throughout the week, local homeless and underserved residents stop in at the Harbor for a hot meal and provisions for the week.

Many of the donations are pre-made canned food with pop tops so the residents that don’t have homes or stoves can quickly access it. Several times a year Five Star holds potluck lunches and also collects provisions for various shelters in the Dothan area.
