Senior Vice President Cindy Connelly Inducted into the 2023 HERSTORY Exhibit

The League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU) is excited to celebrate Cindy Connelly, Senior Vice President of Georgia United Credit Union in Duluth, Georgia, for being inducted into the “Credit Union Women Making History: Herstory” exhibit created by America’s Credit Union Museum (ACUM).

Due to overwhelming response and support of the Herstory initiative in 2022, the museum established an annual recognition program to identify and celebrate outstanding women of the movement. Thanks to generous sponsors, Cooperative Credit Union Association, the Illinois Credit Union League/Envisant, and Payment Systems for Credit Unions (PSCU), Herstory continues honoring the past, present, and future of incredible women making history, showcasing women’s stories never heard before.

Cindy Connelly was inducted alongside five other outstanding women in credit union history:

  • Linda Bodie, President/CEO, Element Federal Credit Union, South Charleston, West Virginia
  • Kathy Chartier, President/CEO, Members Credit Union, Cos Cob, Connecticut
  • Kim Sponem, President/CEO, Summit Credit Union, Madison, Wisconsin
  • Brandi Stankovic, Principal, Strategic Advisory Solutions, Las Vegas, Nevada
  • Sarah Vega, Director, Illinois Credit Union Foundation, Attorney At Law, Chicago, Illinois

“We could not be more thrilled with the second round of inductees to the Herstory exhibit” says ACUM Board Chair Nathan Saller. “We’ve seen that Herstory has had a profound impact across the credit union movement, and these latest inductees reinforce the strength of our shared mission.”

The Museum will hold their annual induction ceremony on Thursday, September 28, 2023, and looks forward to celebrating these powerful women of the movement by adding their stories to continue to inspire and guide the leaders of tomorrow.
