LSCU Needs Your Help to Protect Your Institution from Harmful Legislation

The League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU), with help from our Regulatory Working Group, recently submitted two letters fighting back against proposed regulatory overreach by the Federal Reserve (capping debit card interchange fees) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) (capping overdraft fees). We have grave concerns about the impacts on financial institutions of all sizes due to trickle-down effects, and we need a full-court grassroots press to counter these disastrous proposals.

We recently emailed credit unions a pair of customizable comment letter templates to submit your own comment letters. Please submit your letters by each proposal’s respective deadline: April 1 for the CFPB and May 12 for the Federal Reserve.

If you have not received the templates or if you have any questions, please contact Mat Willey. Additionally, if your credit union has already submitted a letter – thank you – and please email Mat to let him know. Your commitment to advocacy on these critical matters is greatly valued and appreciated.
