On June 12 – 14, the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU & Affiliates) presented its annual LSCU Awards at the 2024 Southeastern Credit Union Conference & Expo (SCUCE) in Orlando, Florida. This awards ceremony recognizes credit unions and credit union professionals who demonstrated exemplary service and accomplishments in 2023.
The winners of the Credit Union of the Year award are as follows:
Credit Union of the Year – Alabama
- WCU Credit Union (Less than $100 Million)
- Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union ($100 to $500 Million)
- Redstone Federal Credit Union (More than $500 Million)
Credit Union of the Year – Florida
- FiCare Federal Credit Union (Less than $100 Million)
- Calhoun Liberty Credit Union ($100 to $500 Million)
- First Florida Credit Union (More than $500 Million)
Credit Union of the Year – Georgia
- Credit Union of Atlanta (Less than $100 Million)
- North Georgia Credit Union ($100 to $500 Million)
- Associated Credit Union (More than $500 Million)
The winners of the Professional of the Year award are as follows:
- Derrick E. Ragland, Jr., APCO Employees Credit Union (Alabama)
- Laurie Cappelli, Community Credit Union of Florida (Florida)
- Diane McCoy, Rome Kraft Employees Credit Union (Georgia)
Grant Abbott from FSU Credit Union received the 2023 Young Professional of the Year Award.
The winners of the Volunteer of the Year award are as follows:
- Ronnie Reed, Family Savings Credit Union (Alabama)
- Ann Strickland, Miami Postal Service Credit Union (Florida)
- Susan Ammons, GeoVista Federal Credit Union (Georgia)
John Hirabayashi, President and CEO of Community First Credit Union, was honored with the Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes lifelong service to the credit union movement reaching beyond the natural person credit union.
