Opportunities to Learn More Through Upcoming Town Halls

In our ongoing efforts to provide transparent information and address your questions, the League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU) and the Virginia Credit Union League (VACUL) have been hosting a series of town halls focused on the proposed consolidation. These sessions have provided the opportunity to connect with credit unions across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Virginia, while learning more about their unique needs and challenges.

The feedback we’ve received during these town halls has been very positive. Credit unions have expressed interest in how this consolidation can create stronger advocacy while still maintaining our local and state-specific approach, increase member resources through combined entities, and lead to more streamlined success and efficiencies.

Our tried and trusted advocacy model will only intensify through the bringing on of additional legal and regulatory expertise. Another benefit to member credit unions will be the increased support for smaller credit unions. The Small Credit Union program, offered by LSCU, is designed to facilitate growth and provide solutions to the unique challenges faced by credit unions with $100 million in assets and under. In January 2025, we plan to increase the threshold to include credit unions under $150 million in assets. This increase allows us to provide more resources to even more credit unions with smaller asset sizes. You can learn more about the benefits this proposed partnership would bring online.

As we approach the final Town Halls, we encourage you to join us to learn more about the consolidation. These town halls are not only a platform to ask questions, but they also allow us to gather valuable insights from our credit unions. We are committed to continuing these conversations and ensuring that the voices of all of our members are heard throughout this process.
