Unite for Advocacy: Protecting the Credit Union Movement Together

Both The League and America’s Credit Unions (ACU) are committed to advocating for the Credit Union Movement at both state and federal levels—and we need your support!

With the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act set to expire at the end of this year, the federal credit union tax exemption is under consideration as a potential ‘pay for’ to continue these tax cuts. Understanding the importance of the credit union tax exemption and how our unique structure allows credit unions to serve communities and consumers often left behind by big banks, The League and ACU are launching a large-scale campaign (Don’t Tax My Credit Union) to protect credit unions, with a fundraising goal of $5 million to preserve and defend the credit union tax exemption. If your credit union would like to contribute, please donate here.

In addition, Project Zip Code, a secure tool utilized by ACU and The League, helps analyze data and create materials that showcase the credit union difference and its impact. Your participation is essential to highlight the presence and contributions of credit unions nationwide. To get involved, reach out to Josie Ellis or Ibby Dickson today!

The League Political Action Committees are one of most impactful ways you can contribute to credit union advocacy efforts. When you sign up for fundraisers and payroll deductions, you directly impact our movement! The League also provides educational training on grassroots topics to ensure that your credit union is equipped for advocacy success. If you are interested in learning more about the PACs, training, or want to get involved, please contact Josie Ellis or Ibby Dickson today!

Stay tuned for more ways to engage in 2025!
