Following the formation of The League, our federal congressional delegation expanded from 55 to 68 members, growing our influence and position as one of the largest leagues (delegation-wise) in the country.
After the recent convening of the 119th Congress, we picked up several points of access to key committees of jurisdiction over financial services issues, including, but not limited to, the following: Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) to Senate Finance, Reps. Mike Haridopolos (FL-08) and Maria Salazar (FL-27) to House Financial Services, and Rep. Aaron Bean (FL-04) to House Ways and Means.
In addition, Rep. Brian Mast (FL-21) assumed the role of Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) was selected to lead the Senate Banking Subcommittee on Housing, Transportation, and Community Development, Rep. Barry Loudermilk (GA-11) was named Vice Chair of the Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions, and Rep. Mike Haridopolos (FL-08) was named a House Financial Services Committee Whip—showing great leadership among The League’s delegation.
