The League is presenting a webinar about CDFI certification in conjunction with the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions (the Federation) on Oct. 15.

The LSCU and the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions (the Federation) are partnering to put on a webinar focusing on the advantages of becoming certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and the application process. The webinar is scheduled for Oct. 15 at 3 p.m. ET/2 p.m. CT.

The Federation’s Credit Union Breakthrough team has completed more than 100 successful applications for CDFI certification and was part of the coalition that helped get the CDFI Fund established in 1994. Follow this link to a recently completed study by the Federation and CUNA, CDFI Certification: A Building Block for Credit Union Growth, that explains the value of certification and its tremendous impact on credit unions and the communities they serve.

This is an exceptional opportunity for all credit unions with questions related to the CDFI Certification application. Hear how Suncoast Credit Union worked with the CU Breakthrough team to get certified last year. Learn how CDFI credit unions are a viable business model for community development. In addition to their presentations, LSCU and the Federation staff are available to answer your questions in an extended Q&A session.
