With the recent passage of S. 2155, the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief and Consumer Protection Act, Senator Doug Jones published an articleclick here,  on why he co-sponsored and voted in favor of the legislation.  While he states the numerous benefits of the legislation to all community based financial institutions, Sen. Jones goes into great detail about his youth and his family being long time members of the Iron and Steel Workers Credit Union, now America’s First Federal Credit Union.  He talks about his parents using the credit union to finance their home and car and how the credit union was a critical piece of the puzzle to the American middle class.

Senator Jones’ co-sponsorship, vote, and subsequent article on S. 2155 is evidence that the work you do with regards to advocacy on behalf of credit unions and the millions of members you represent really does have an impact in Washington, D.C.

Please take the time to thank Senator Jones for his support of credit unions by clicking here and let him know that his work is appreciated by all of Alabama’s credit unions.
