During the 2021 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference, March 2-4, lawmakers will learn the critical role credit unions have played in helping 120 million Americans manage the financial impact of the pandemic. GAC will be delivered in real-time via a full-featured, interactive digital platform. This annual conference brings together Leagues, credit unions, thought leaders and policymakers from across the nation.
The event will be emceed by Antonio Neves, author, speaker and network correspondent. Neves talks with leaders about the “best thing” to happen to them that would never appear on a resume. Antonio’s speaking audiences over the years have included: Google, Amazon, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Booking.com, CUNA and Stanford University.
Speakers include Dr. Scott Gottlieb and Kevin Carroll.
Dr. Gottlieb is a physician and served as the 23rd Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Gottlieb’s work focuses on advancing public health through developing and implementing innovative approaches to improving medical outcomes, reshaping healthcare delivery, and expanding consumer choice and safety. He is a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and a partner at the venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates.
Carroll is the founder of Kevin Carroll Katalyst/LLC and the author of three highly successful books. As an author, speaker and agent for social change (a.k.a. the Katalyst), it is Carroll’s “job” to inspire businesses, organizations and individuals—from CEOs and employees of Fortune 500 companies to schoolchildren to maximize their human potential.
The online format will integrate many of the conference’s most popular features including live speakers and breakout sessions, a virtual exhibit hall and the opportunity to (virtually) advocate for the credit union movement. The LSCU is coordinating virtual Hill Hikes for CUNA GAC that give you the opportunity to meet with our state’s representatives and share how your credit union is making a difference for your members.
Some of the country’s most influential business and political thought leaders will be among the presenters at CUNA GAC. Key advocacy topics will include:
- Preserving the tax status and fighting bank attacks
- Regulatory relief
- COVID pandemic relief efforts/ resources
With a new Congress, and a host of new leaders in Washington this spring, this our chance for us to set the narrative on what people-over-profit means for advancing our communities. We certainly hope you will join us at this very important event.
