First Virtual Hike the Hill meetings underway

The LSCU’s Fall Hike the Hill is underway in a virtual format, and lawmakers are logging on to discuss credit union issues with industry leaders in Alabama, Florida and Georgia. It’s time to educate members of Congress on credit union issues and challenges, and this year, LSCU is holding meetings virtually for two weeks and LSCU encourages you to join!

The first week of meetings started yesterday, Monday, Sept. 14 and concludes on Friday, Sept. 18. The second week of meetings will begin on Monday, Sept. 28 and conclude on Friday, Oct. 2. Please visit our Virtual Hike the Hill webpage to register for your lawmaker’s meeting. Please note that you will need an LSCU log-in for meeting information and times.

“Meetings with our lawmakers remain one of the most important visual representations of credit union grassroots advocacy,” said Blake Westbrook, LSCU Director of Political Action & Grassroots. “Even in the midst of a pandemic and from afar, we can successfully engage with lawmakers and make a lasting positive impact on the credit union movement. We’ve already had several calls with members of the LSCU congressional delegation, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.”

For more information on these issues, please read through our legislative talking pointsTo register for the webinar, please click here. If you are unable to attend, we will have a recording of the webinar linked on our Virtual Hike the Hill webpage.

If you have any questions on Virtual Hike the Hill or any of our grassroots engagement tools, please feel free to contact Blake Westbrook (Alabama and Georgia) or Murphy Kennedy (Florida).
