Florida’s 2016 proposed legislative agenda – we need your feedback!
The FCUA 2016 proposed legislative agenda is now available, and the GA team needs your feedback. The issues listed represent the credit union industry’s legislative priorities for Florida’s lawmakers and will guide the efforts of the League’s governmental affairs team. The 2016  Regular Session is scheduled to convene on Tuesday, Jan. 12, and adjourn after 60 days on Friday, March 11. Please take a few minutes to review the issues and send any comments, questions, or suggestions to Jennifer Martin, director, governmental affairs.

Florida’s special redistricting session set for Aug. 10 – 21
Lawmakers will be returning to Tallahassee in August for another special session, the second this year, on congressional redistricting to comply with the recent Supreme Court ruling. Special Session B will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, for a period of 12 days, ending at noon on Friday, Aug. 21. The legislature will convene to amend Congressional Districts 5, 13, 14, 21, 22, 25, 26, and 27 consistent with the Florida Supreme Court opinion in Case No. SC14-1905 The League of Women Voters of Florida, etc., et al. v. Ken Detzner, et al. and to make conforming changes to districts that are a direct result of the changes to the referenced congressional districts.
