From January 31 – February 1 credit unions from across the state of Georgia gathered in Atlanta at the State Capitol for this year’s Georgia Advocacy Conference to move the needle on key legislative priorities. Issues discussed included remote online notarization, state charter enhancements, interchange, protecting credit unions from taxation, and more.
In addition to meeting with numerous local legislators, credit unions visited with Governor Brian Kemp, Speaker Jon Burns, the office of Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, the Department of Banking and Finance, and other key leaders from the state.
The League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU) is grateful to the credit unions who traveled from all over the state to join us in advancing credit union priorities and blocking harmful legislation. This year’s conference was a tremendous success thanks to the major credit union presence under the Gold Dome.
Please be reminded about our upcoming state advocacy conferences in Alabama and Florida. We hope to see your credit union there!
