Have you Registered for the Alabama Advocacy Conference on April 2 – 3

You don’t want to miss the opportunity to advocate in Alabama’s capital and get the inside scoop on what’s to come for the legislative session! Register to secure your spot at the conference today, and remember to book your room in LSCU’s hotel block before Monday, March 11th.

We have a great agenda and presentations from speakers who will share behind-the-scenes intel, helpful information, and resources for our members.

Alabama’s state leaders will share their vision for our state.

Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth will tell us how Alabama continues to welcome and support military families coming to our state. Lieutenant Governor Ainsworth prides himself on being a farmer and small business owner in Alabama. In 2014, he felt the call to serve his community through elected office and won a seat in the Alabama House of Representatives. While serving in the House, he was a champion for public education, passed election integrity legislation, supported pro-business measures, and was active on issues affecting agriculture and protecting family values.
Speaker of the House Nathaniel Ledbetter will be recognized as our Lawmaker of the Year. He has been extremely instrumental in securing unanimous support for financial literacy in the House chamber this past year.  During his time in the statehouse, Speaker Ledbetter has focused on economic growth, expanding broadband Internet service, advancing personal freedoms, and improving Alabama’s ports.
Back by popular demand, Amanda Senn, Director of the Alabama Securities Commission, will join us to give a first-hand account of the latest information on protecting credit union members from fraud and scams. She’s a dynamic speaker and one you won’t want to miss.
Hearing from Julie Crockett, State Advisor for Career & Technical Education, we’ll learn how Alabama’s Department of Education is implementing financial literacy in the classroom and how we can impact student lives through Career Prep, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA).

Register today and book your room! You don’t want to miss this opportunity to advocate for Alabama’s credit unions and get the inside scoop on what’s happening at the Capitol.
