The LSCU’s Advocacy professionals are in Washington, D.C., this week, along with a record-breaking 5,500 credit union leaders, to participate in the credit union industry’s largest advocacy event.
“The GAC is not only a great opportunity for credit unions to network, collaborate with industry leaders and hear from great speakers, but it’s also an opportunity for credit unions to get in front of their lawmakers and talk about issues that are important to us,” said Blake Westbrook, director of political action and grassroots for the LSCU and longtime attendee of the GAC. “When credit unions visit with their lawmakers and their presence is felt on Capitol Hill, it makes an impact that benefits our industry in many ways.”
For credit union professionals who can’t be there in person, we will be updating you through social media and LSCU Insight. There are several other ways to keep up with what’s up in D.C. this week.
During the conference, follow along to see what attendees are saying by searching the hashtag #CUNAGAC. CUNA’s Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram will be updated regularly throughout CUNA GAC as well.
On Wednesday, attendees will participate in Capitol Hill visits with their elected officials. Many will be using the hashtag #CUDifference to share information on their meetings and priorities.
CUNA News will also be updated throughout the day with photos, video and recaps of the day’s sessions and other activities. Complete coverage can be found at news.cuna.org/gac.
