The LSCU is preparing for a virtual Fall Hike the Hill, a yearly event that traditionally puts credit union advocates face-to-face with elected officials in Washington, D.C., the nation’s capital. As our more recent virtual lawmaker visits have demonstrated, the credit union message can still be heard loud and clear through a computer screen. The meetings will take place from Sept. 14-18 with the second week of meetings taking place from Sept. 28 through Oct. 2.
The advocacy team has already begun scheduling meetings on your behalf. To view the full schedule, register for your representative’s meeting, or for more information, please click here. Please note that you will need an LSCU log-in and password to access the meeting information. Curated to fit into your busy schedule and set safely in a virtual setting, we believe this year’s Hike the Hill has the potential to be our most successful and highest-attended yet.
Meetings with our lawmakers remain one of the most important visual representations of credit union grassroots advocacy. Even in the midst of a pandemic and from afar, we can successfully engage with lawmakers and make a lasting positive impact on the credit union movement.
As always, if you have any questions on Hike the Hill or any of our grassroots engagement tools, please feel free to contact Blake Westbrook (Alabama and Georgia) or Murphy Kennedy (Florida). Thank you for your continued support of LSCU advocacy.
