LSCU Announces Congressional Endorsements for 2022 Election Cycle

Representing Florida credit unions and their more than six million members, the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU & Affiliates) is proud to announce key congressional endorsements for the 2022 Election Cycle.

The list of endorsements is as follows:

  • U.S. Representative Kat Cammack (R) for Florida’s 3rd Congressional District
  • U.S. Representative Al Lawson (D) for Florida’s 5th Congressional District
  • U.S. Representative Bill Posey (R) for Florida’s 8th Congressional District
  • U.S. Representative Darren Soto (D) for Florida’s 9th Congressional District
  • U.S. Representative Gus Bilirakis (R) for Florida’s 12th Congressional District
  • U.S. Representative Vern Buchanan (R) for Florida’s 16th Congressional District

“We are incredibly proud to support this bipartisan list of candidates in their bids for re-election. These members have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to standing up for Florida credit unions and our priorities,” stated LSCU & Affiliates CEO, Patrick La Pine. “As credit unions continue to invest in their members and local communities, we look forward to working alongside these officials to further enhance the financial well-being of Floridians.”

With these endorsements, LSCU & Affiliates will support these candidates financially and through grassroots efforts. Over the next several months, credit unions and their members will have opportunities to speak with the candidates so they can make their own decisions as voters.

“Throughout the pandemic, it became especially apparent just how vital the relationships between credit unions and federal offices are. In the last two years, we proudly worked with Congress to save more than 100,000 jobs through Paycheck Protection Program loans and protect small businesses through the issuance of loans of all sizes. Through continued efforts, credit unions contributed more than $9.3 billion to Florida’s economy to ensure families and businesses across the state had the resources and assistance they needed to get through the pandemic,” continued La Pine. “We look forward to strengthening our relationships with these officials in 2023 and beyond, so that we may continue creating a financial environment where all Floridians can succeed.”
