PAC Fundraising Webinar focused on Targeted ATM Fees

While 2020 provided distinct challenges for credit unions, it also created new prospects for creativity and resourcefulness. For example, The Credit Unions Cares Challenge, a product of such outside-the-box thinking, invested more than $1 million into local businesses in Alabama, Florida and Georgia’s communities during the darkest hours of the pandemic. Credit unions excel at creating opportunity out of crisis and the LSCU Advocacy Team wants to bring that spirit of ingenuity into 2021.

LSCU is committed to providing our members with pertinent PAC resources, especially those that encourage innovation. Consequently, LSCU will be hosting a webinar on the Targeted ATM Fee program featuring Gary Vien, Suncoast Credit Union’s chief administrative officer, on Jan. 27 at 11 a.m. ET.

For the past few years, Suncoast Credit Union has utilized outside-the-box thinking to raise PAC dollars through targeted ATM fees. During times of high non-member traffic, Suncoast diverted their non-member fees towards Florida CUPAC. While this program was only active for 45 days in 2020, it raised an astounding $72,000 over a month and a half on just 50 targeted ATM’s. Suncoast also saw savings in the form of unrelated business income tax. The webinar will explain the logistics of the program step-by-step, answer any questions you may have, and explain how you can apply programs like this at your credit union.
