The League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU & Affiliates) and the Georgia Credit Union League (GCUL) completed closing on the strategic consolidation, officially combining the two leagues and their affiliated companies into an expanded LSCU & Affiliates on Friday, Aug. 30.
This consolidation will better position the LSCU & Affiliates and credit unions in the three states for advocacy, collaboration, and long-term stability. This new structure will offer enhanced value to all of the 342 credit unions served by the League in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.
Mike Mercer, formerly president/CEO of Georgia Credit Union Affiliates, will now serve as CEO of LSCU & Affiliates, providing leadership for the association services side of the organization. LSCU & Affiliates will focus on expanded advocacy efforts in order to project greater influence on behalf of credit unions at the state and national levels.
Patrick La Pine, formerly president/CEO of LSCU & Affiliates, will serve as CEO of Affiliates Consolidated Services (ACS), the LSCU’s new holding company. ACS includes LEVERAGE, the LSCU service corporation, Alabama and Georgia shared branching and business services previously offered through the Georgia Credit Union Service Corporation and CSI. He will also lead all shared services (back office) functions for the reconstituted LSCU & Affiliates.
As the League embarks on the next phase of evolution as a regional trade association representing credit unions, LSCU & Affiliates remains committed to providing excellent service and best-in-class products and services to its member/client credit unions.
