This year, Florida residents can purchase qualifying disaster preparedness supplies exempt from tax during the 2024 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday taking place June 1 – 14.
Passed by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis, the sales tax holiday allows for residents to purchase disaster preparedness materials such as batteries, flashlights, and coolers, etc. A second tax-free period will occur August 24 – September 6, providing an additional opportunity for residents to replenish their disaster preparedness kits.
