On June 15 – 16, the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU & Affiliates) presented its annual LSCU Awards at the 2023 Southeastern Credit Union Conference & Expo (SCUCE) in Orlando, Florida. This awards ceremony recognizes credit unions and credit union professionals who demonstrated exemplary service and accomplishments in 2022.
The winners of the Credit Union of the Year award based on asset size are as follows:
- Credit Union of the Year up to $100 Million in Assets
- Azalea City Credit Union (Alabama)
- Priority Credit Union (Florida)
- North Georgia Credit Union (Georgia)
- Credit Union of the Year $100 Million to $500 Million in Assets
- New Horizons Credit Union (Alabama)
- Florida State University Credit Union (Florida)
- Interstate Credit Union (Georgia)
- Credit Union of the Year More Than $500 Million in Assets
- AlabamaONE Credit Union (Alabama)
- Community First Credit Union of Florida (Florida)
- Georgia United Credit Union (Georgia)
The winners of the Professional of the Year award are as follows:
- Phil Boozer of America’s First Federal Credit Union (Alabama)
- Lisa D. Brown of Central Credit Union of Florida (Florida)
- Heiwote Tadesse of Associated Credit Union (Georgia)
Ashleigh Robinson from First Florida Credit Union received the 2022 Young Professional of the Year Award.
The winners of the Volunteer of the Year award are as follows:
- Command Sergeant Major Charlie Miller of Redstone Federal Credit Union (Alabama)
- James “Jim” Notter of BrightStar Credit Union (Florida)
- Harold Harbin of North Georgia Credit Union (Georgia)
Mary Ott Wood, President and CEO of Florida West Coast Credit Union, was honored with the Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes lifelong service to the credit union movement reaching beyond the natural person credit union.
