On Nov. 6 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT, the 2019 Alabama Financial Fraud Conference will be held at the Trusville Civic Center in Trussville, Ala. InfraGard Birmingham Members Alliance and the FBI Birmingham Office are presenting the event, which is hosted in partnership with Regions Bank, Kassouf & Co., P.C., ASIS Birmingham Chapter and DarkTower.
Participating credit unions will have a unique opportunity to learn from both public and private sector experts about recent trends in fraudulent activity and about ways to mitigate those threats.
“This conference allows credit unions to hear from seasoned professionals who have insight into the latest fraud and cybersecurity threats financial institutions are facing in today’s high-risk climate,” said Mike Lee, director of regulatory advocacy for the LSCU. “Bringing together experts from a diverse set of organizations gives us a a well-rounded view of how to be vigilant in protecting credit union members.”
Planned topics include: FTC violation trends, the certified fraud examiner’s perspective, recent trends in criminal fraud schemes from the U.S. Attorney, organized gangs, in-branch/internal fraud, mitigating risk of fraud in your financial institution, current cyber threats and the tools to combat them, cyber insurance, business email compromise and synthetic ID fraud.
