LSCU Insight changes focus to be your resource for COVID-19 updates

With circumstances evolving hourly regarding the impact of coronavirus, the LSCU is dedicated to providing you the information and resources most essential to your credit union. Beginning with tomorrow’s edition, you will see a newly formatted LSCU Insight, focusing all content on what you need to know regarding credit union operations, policies and personnel as we all work to mitigate the spread of the communicable virus.

The LSCU will add a new resource under our Coronavirus Resource Area that will help share what our affiliated credit unions are enacting to help staff and members through this pandemic. For instance, some credit unions are offering skip-a-payment options or emergency loans for members impacted by loss of income due to COVID-19. Many are allowing staff to telecommute while ensuring continuity of service. Sharing this information among our credit unions gives us insight into how other institutions are assisting with new programs to serve members in crisis.

Our member credit unions are known for their commitment to helping people afford life, and the pandemic is making that most difficult on those with the fewest resources and whose jobs are being hard hit by closings or loss of business. Please assist us in sharing information by submitting your policies and special COVID-19 assistance programs, as well as how your branches are handling human resources and the commitment to staying safe during this time. Send your details to submissions@lscu.coop.

The LSCU will host a webinar to open a dialogue among credit union professionals in the three-state footprint on March 20 at 10 a.m. ET. Click here to register.

Please reach out to any of our team members with questions or issues. Just as you remain committed to serving your members during this time, the LSCU staff members are available to you. Please view our resource page here.
