In its continuing effort to receive feedback on improving the Call Reports process, the NCUA is giving credit unions an additional two weeks to comment on possible changes. The deadline for comments is now Aug. 15. The original deadline was Aug. 1.
Possible changes to the call reports include optional sections for small credit unions. House Republicans are pushing legislation that would require financial institution regulators to take into account the size of a bank or credit union when writing rules.
The NCUA also is seeking comments on which sections of the call report and credit union profile are particularly challenging, what could be added to the report, which sections don’t align with an institution’s internal accounting, and whether the call report should be reorganized.
