According to Lexis Nexis, “One-fifth of the U.S. population is unbanked or underbanked, and 24% of this group is unscorable. Many of these consumers are likely to be as creditworthy as those full-file, prime applicants.”
Participants in the upcoming NCUA webinar can gain valuable insights into serving these underserved and low-income communities. Representatives from the NCUA and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau will discuss:
- Current landscape of financial inclusion in the US;
- Barriers and challenges to low-income populations for financial inclusion; and
- Innovations in financial inclusion.
Credit union officials will join the webinar and share information about their programs aimed at bringing greater inclusion and equity to low-income and underserved communities.
