Calhoun Liberty Credit Union (CLCU) in Blountstown, Florida, is proud to announce that 47 outstanding high school seniors from Altha High School, Liberty County High School, and Blountstown High School have been awarded scholarships to support their further education. This initiative is part of CLCU’s ongoing commitment to fostering educational opportunities and empowering the youth in our community.
Since the inception of CLCU’s Scholarship Program in 2017, the credit union has awarded over $125,000 in scholarships to deserving high school students. This year, each of the 47 graduating students received a $750 scholarship, which can be used to pursue a variety of post-secondary educational paths, including four-year colleges, two-year degree programs, trade schools, and certificate programs, ensuring that students have the flexibility to follow their unique career aspirations.
“The CLCU Scholarship Program reflects our unwavering dedication to supporting the education and development of the next generation,” said Thomas Flowers, CEO of Calhoun Liberty Credit Union. “We are proud to invest in the futures of these young adults, helping them achieve their academic and professional goals. Our commitment goes beyond financial support; we aim to empower our youth with the knowledge and resources they need to succeed.”
In addition to the scholarship program, CLCU is deeply invested in providing financial literacy to the community. The annual Reality Fair is a testament to this commitment in which students from Altha High School, Liberty County High School, and Blountstown High School participate in an immersive experience where they learn to budget, plan, and make real-world financial decisions. This hands-on approach ensures that students are not only prepared academically but are also equipped with essential life skills.
