Lizeth GeorgeCoosa Pines Federal Credit Union is excited to announce that it was one of four Sylacauga businesses among 46 finalists honored at the 2023 Small Business of the Year Awards held by the Business Council of Alabama (BCA) in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama.
The local finalists were honored in each of four categories. They included Broadway Spinal Care (Emerging Business <5 Years), Pinhoti Outdoor Center (1 – 10 Employees), Harvey’s On Noble (11 – 50 Employees), and Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union (51 – 100 Employees). Of the four, Broadway Spinal Care and Pinhoti Outdoor took first place in their categories while Harvey’s On Noble and Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union won the second place or silver awards in their categories.
BCA President and CEO, Helena Duncan, stated that the awards “exist to recognize, celebrate, and promote small businesses for their notable efforts in supporting their communities and bettering our state.” She added, “BCA is proud to honor some of our state’s most impressive small businesses as they exemplify resilience, passion, and commitment. [They] are the sponsors you see on little league jerseys, high school football games, and community philanthropy events. They are the heart of Alabama communities and deserve to be celebrated every single day.”
