CFE Federal Credit Union hosts CEO Roundtable, Assists ‘Clean the World’
This fall, CFE Federal Credit Union employees gathered together at Clean The World to assemble personal care packages for those affected by Hurricane Maria. At the helm of this initiative was Kevin Miller, who transitioned into his role as CFE’s President and CEO earlier this year.
This community service project was the second part of a two-part roundtable series, called Coffee with Kevin, which invited 16 employees from various branches and support departments to share their feedback on the CEO transition and other aspects of CFE’s operations.
“One of my goals as CEO is to create a more empowered culture at CFE,” said Miller. “Through groups like Coffee with Kevin, I hope to encourage two-way communication with employees and ensure their voices are heard.”
During Part 1 of Coffee with Kevin, employees met for breakfast with Miller to discuss their ideas for how to better serve credit union members and create new opportunities for CFE. Six weeks later, that same group joined together to volunteer at Clean The World, followed by a lunch to debrief on changes that had taken place at CFE during that time.
Clean the World has a two-part mission. The first part is to collect and recycle soap and hygiene products discarded every day by the hospitality industry and other sectors that generate environmental waste. The second part of the mission is, “Through the distribution of these and other donated products to impoverished people, prevent millions of hygiene-related deaths each year, reduce the morbidity rate for hygiene-related illnesses, and encourage vigorous childhood development.”
