Lakeland-based MidFlorida Credit Union reaches $3 billion in assets
Lakeland-based MidFlorida Credit Union has reached $3 billion in assets, a milestone achievement in the institution’s 64 years of doing business.Established in 1954 as a local teachers’ credit union, MidFlorida is now considered the fourth-largest credit union in Florida, serving more than 280,000 members with 850 employees.
Kevin Jones, who has served as MidFlorida’s CEO for the past 25 years, credits his team of managers for reaching the milestone and said members will reap the benefits, such as expanded mortgage lending and growth in business lending and checking and automobile loans.
In concert with the announcement, MidFlorida announced a number of promotions. Jones has stepped down as president but maintains the title of CEO. Steve Moseley is now president of MidFlorida Credit Union and president of financial services.
