Naheola CU announces winners of the ‘Listen to Your Art’ scholarship contest
On April 17, Naheola Credit Union in Demopolis, AL, announced the winners of the Listen to Your Art Scholarship Competition. Demopolis High School students were asked to draw, paint, or photograph what they felt best represented their community. First place was awarded to Claudia Peppenhorst. Second place was Anotonio Besteder Jr., and third place was presented to Tyler Pipkins.
Art teacher Jenn Tate and Principal Blaine Hathcock congratulated students on their work.
Florida Jump$tart Coalition hosts training event for youth education
Florida Jump$tart Coalition hosted a free training event on financial education for youth on April 19 at Miami City Hall in Miami, FL. Financial Educators, including professionals from four credit unions, took part in the training, gaining tools and resources on instructing students and young adults on financial literary.
The coalition acts as a central point of contact for and source of information about personal financial education activities in Florida for providers, supporters, and funders of personal financial education in the state, as well as community leaders and legislators.
