VyStar Credit Union receives ‘Best Place to Work’ honors
Each year, the Jacksonville Business Journal partners with Quantum Workplace to find the businesses on the First Coast that create a “Best Place to Work.” Through surveys that gauge employee attitudes, they determine the companies that employees most enjoy working for. The companies are broken down into five categories based on size. VyStar Credit Union was named a Best Place to Work 2019 in the extra large category of 250 or more employees.

This is not the first time VyStar has been recognized as an outstanding place to work. And as the credit union prepared for 2019 with a list of offerings including a $15 minimum wage, VyStar’s President/CEO, Brian Wolfburg, said “We value our employees and appreciate all that they do for our members; and just like our members, they deserve to receive the best that is available from VyStar, especially when it comes to workplace satisfaction and personal benefits. As a strong advocate for work-life balance, I have made it my personal mission to even further improve our already competitive employee offerings—and ultimately drive VyStar to the top of the list of best places to work in Jacksonville.

Alabama Credit Union CEO leads Everest Expedition?
April Fools’ Day pranks have long been a staple to kick off the Spring, but Alabama Credit Union took it next level with hilarious posts on its Facebook page. Links led to an April Fools message, but not before followers paused to ponder what they were seeing.

A favorite post was this: “Alabama Credit Union CEO and hiking enthusiast, Steve Swofford, leads expedition to peak of Mt. Everest to plant ACU flag atop world’s tallest mountain. Track his progress here: https://bit.ly/2FMeSwH

In another posts, the credit union, known for its crimson color, announced the unveiling of new colors to keep the brand fresh.  Still another suggested the credit union was going international: “Alabama Credit Union will be bringing its award-winning member service to Nassau, Bahamas in the Spring of 2020. Click the link to see future expansion plans! https://bit.ly/2FMeSwH.”

It was a humorous way to celebrate the day and may give your credit union ideas for next year!
