Jax Federal Credit Union (JAXFCU) recently announced that Jill Thomas-Aviles, Vice President of Operations and Digital Strategy, has been selected as a 2022 Technology Leaders of the Year honoree by the Jacksonville Business Journal. The award recognizes corporate leaders in Northeast Florida for advancing technology within their organizations and impacting their industry.
“Jill has shown extraordinary leadership in the successful launch of our new digital banking platform, and this award is a testimony to her hard work and expertise,” said John Servos, President and CEO of Jax Federal Credit Union. “She continues to provide exceptional guidance in exploring new technologies to better serve our members and deserves this recognition for her incredible commitment to the credit union movement.”
Thomas-Aviles successfully launched a new digital banking platform with partner Lumin Digital in April 2021. JAXFCU was the first credit union in Florida to provide this platform to its membership and the 11th credit union nationwide. Due to COVID-19 restrictions at the time, the project was executed 100% remotely and required coordination with over a dozen vendors to provide the state-of-the-art digital banking system for the credit union’s 44,000+ members. Within a month of launch, nearly 75% of users had successfully — and happily enrolled.
She has managed the launch of every home-banking system at JAXFCU since 2000, when the organization began offering online banking options.
“I have worked in financial services for 24 years, and never stop learning about technology and what it can do for our members and in our personal lives,” said Thomas-Aviles. “I am inspired by technology and new systems that can help to make our lives easier.”
