Mary Ott Wood CEO/President of Florida West Coast Credit Union and LSCU Board member was part of a delegation that met with President Trump at the White House yesterday to discuss issues relating to credit unions. CUNA’s president/CEO Jim Nussle reported that the meeting was timely with over 5,000 credit union advocates currently in town for CUNA GAC and had been in the works for some time.
The group reported that the discussion centered around regulatory burden and who credit unions serve. The president asked each member of the group about their asset size and number of members and seemed very knowledgeable of the regulatory burdens facing credit unions.
“It was an honor to represent credit unions as we met with our president. I love what I do and the group of people that we work with. It was a great day,” stated Mary Ott Wood pictured left with Jim Nussle during the press conference that followed the meeting with the president.
Others in the meeting were: Maurice Smith, the CEO of Local Government Employees FCU and CUNA’s new chairman, Lisa Ginter, CEO of CommunityAmerica Credit Union, Tyrone Muse (president and CEO of Visions FCU); Angie Owens (president and CEO of American Airlines FCU), and Lynette Smith (president and CEO of Washington Gas Light Federal Credit Union).
