Escalating credit card fraud reports have catapulted Florida to the top of the list nationally with the largest increase in 10 years, says data collected by Value Penguin, a financial information web site. This is the second year in a row that the Sunshine State has topped the list, with the most credit card fraud complaints per capita, the analysis shows. Nearly 8,000 Floridians filed complaints over credit card fraud last year, the most in almost a decade.
The report cited some troubling trends nationwide reporting that almost 70,000 credit card fraud complaints were submitted to the Federal Trade Commission in 2015. This is an increase of 41 percent over the previous year. For more details read Herald Tribune.
