Rocket City Federal Credit Union’s Preston Hudson’s Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend and Young Professional leader, Preston Hudson, 22, of Huntsville, Alabama. Surrounded by his loving family and a multitude of friends, he left this world on July 15, 2023.

Preston was in the process of obtaining a degree in Finance at Calhoun Community College in Huntsville. He was a proud employee of Rocket City Federal Credit Union. He was instrumental in helping create the Young Professionals division of the Northeast Alabama Chapter of Credit Unions, where he acted as treasurer. At work, everyone enjoyed being around Preston, from the credit union members and employees, to the Board of Directors. They felt comfortable with him, knowing they could trust him to take care of any questions or problems they had. Several members would stand in line longer just to make sure they could have Preston to wait on them.

Preston was a very special, young man in so many ways. He had the unique gift of being able to brighten up a room whenever he would enter. His charisma and genuine love and care for everyone was evident in his everyday life. So much so, that it was actually one of the biggest parts of his life and the perfect definition of who he was. Everyone who had the great honor of knowing Preston knew that they had a friend who would be there to help in whatever way he could. The effect and impact he had on us all will forever be embedded in our hearts and will always flow through our memories.

Preston is survived by his parents, Randy and Kim Hudson of Huntsville, and his sister, Shelby, also of Huntsville. He also leaves behind his maternal grandparents, Charles and Sylvia Cornelison of Woodville; paternal grandmother, Shirley Hudson of Cullman; and a loving host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were a big part of his life as well. Preston is preceded in death by his grandfather, Sam Hudson of Decatur.

The Rocket City Federal Credit Union Foundation is accepting donations to help Preston’s family cover expenses. Email the Foundation at foundation@rocketcityfcu.org to see how you can make a donation. The Rocket City Federal Credit Union Foundation was established to provide financial assistance to members of Rocket City Federal Credit Union who have suffered an unfortunate disaster, accident, illness, or circumstance giving rise to such need.
