Ann NaimanBoard directors are a critical part of all credit unions. They’re the volunteers, often behind the scenes, whose experience and expertise help to make sure credit unions succeed. They are the driving force behind many decisions that impact credit union members and staff. Without them, credit unions couldn’t function. This is why the League of Southeastern Credit Unions and Affiliates is partnering with the Michigan Credit Union League for a dynamic learning experience just for directors!
“As not-for-profit financial institutions owned and operated by members, a credit union board of directors has an extra layer of accountability to that credit union’s members. A strong board is vital to a credit union’s success,” says LSCU President Jared Ross. “A credit union’s board isn’t out to make massive profits for an owner. A CU board’s purpose is to serve and promote the best interests of the credit union and its membership. That’s why the leagues want to make sure they have access to training opportunities every year.”
LSCU is offering options for the event happening in mid-May. Directors can choose Day 1 or 2 or both! Options include Early Bird (morning session), Night Owl (afternoon session) or Full Flight (both days).
Offered in conjunction with the Michigan Credit Union League, the conference will connect LSCU-member credit union directors to network and share best practices with credit union volunteers from across the country.
