There’s still time to register for the free 2019 LSCU Media & Communications Training on Oct. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Norcross, GA. This year’s agenda offers the opportunity to engage with your peers and media professionals on the best ways to boost your credit union’s media presence.

Enjoy a dynamic presentation on Making the Most of First Impressions with Body Language and Charisma from Patti Wood, speaker, trainer, spokesperson and media authority. Called the “Gold Standard” of Body Language by the Washington Post and credited in the New York Times for bringing the topic to national attention, Patti Wood is a true expert. Her high energy interactive program is filled with humor, cutting edge information and valuable “take-aways.” She is the author of nine books. She speaks and consults with Fortune 500 companies and associations. You may have seen her on National TV shows like Good Morning America, CNN, FOX News, The History Channel and the Today Show. She is quoted every week in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Psychology Today, Bloomberg Business Week, Fortune, Good Housekeeping and USA Today. Her presentation will cover:

  • Understanding the science of Nonverbal Communication.
  • Improving your first impression.
  • Using the three foundation principles of body language to improve your media impression.
  • Harnessing the power of your voice, to create rapport and have a better phone and face to face media interview.
  • Learning the one mistake that people typically make when trying to read body language – and how it can sabotage your relationships.

Don’t miss this opportunity to network with colleagues and peers during the meeting and also hear from a panel of media professionals over lunch.

Cailin O’Brien, media relations manager at LSCU, will discuss how to uncover amazing and compelling stories within your credit union and your membership. And she will show you how those stories can be used for credit union awareness, public relations, media and to share with existing members.

The training will be held at Associated Credit Union, 6251 Crooked Creek Road, Norcross, GA 30092.
