Join us from October 11 – 13, 2023, for the inaugural INSPIRE Conference, designed by women, for women. The INSPIRE Conference is a multi-state collaboration designed to be the most powerful and impactful women’s conference for credit unions in the Southeast. Speakers will be influential, powerful, empowering, authentic, and, most of all, inspirational women. This conference allows for many networking opportunities for attendees to connect and share ideas and information.
Attend the General Session on Thursday, October 12, from 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. in the Whitley Ballroom for an informative presentation called “Reclaiming Power: Rising in the Face of Adversity to Discover.” Join Gillian Lichota, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the iRise Above Foundation, as she discusses the critical importance of nurturing the mind-body-spirit connection after a devastating diagnosis, and how feeling empowered, inspired, and supported can help cultivate an outstanding quality of life filled with an abundance of possibilities, regardless of circumstances.
Gillian Lichota is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the iRise Above Foundation. She is also a mother, marine biologist, adventure-seeker, and “thriver”. Gillian was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 and again in 2017. Since discovering that her breast cancer had metastasized, she has committed herself to living her best life through a mind-body-spirit connection and challenging her prognosis. Cancer is a word, not a death sentence, and as such does not have to define a person. Her intention is to challenge old paradigms and change perceptions of what it means to have breast cancer. Gillian founded the iRise Above Foundation to help other young women to challenge their prognoses so they too can feel inspired, empowered, and supported to heal and live a more intentional, authentic life after breast cancer. Gillian strives to support these women through a goal-oriented, integrated approach to holistic health and wellness that provides the resources, tools, and strategies for sustainable healthy living — ultimately improving quality of life and long-term survivorship. Gillian hopes to empower young women diagnosed with breast cancer to self-advocate and use their experiences to be the creator and authors of their own stories, as she herself has done. |
