Is it time for you to recertify for FiCEP? The SECUF can help

Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors (FiCEP graduates) must recertify every three years. The LSCU is taking this opportunity to not only increase the knowledge of FiCEP participants, but to also learn from one another. Recertifications can now be coordinated through the Southeastern Credit Union Foundation.

“I’m inspired by a quote from T.D. Jakes that says, ‘The world is a university, and everyone in it is a teacher. Make sure when you wake up in the morning, you go to school,'” said SECUF Director Juli Lewis. “Being FiCEP certified gives us the opportunity to share knowledge with others. It’s one of the most fulfilling things we can do.”

The $325 recertification package includes the following:

  • Material
  • Access to student portal which includes webinars and resource materials
  • 2 webinars
  • Discussion entry (To replace the exam, recertification through the LSCU will require that a brief discussion entry be submitted from a list of topics. The entry will be due within three months of enrollment date. All topic discussions will be shared through the participant portal as resources.)

The topics for the discussion entries will range from best practices of the certification to challenges in improving members’ financial capability.

Registration for recertification can be found online here. Choose “FiCEP Recertification” from the drop down menu. Recertification sessions will begin at the start of the second, third and fourth quarters of each year (April 1, July 1, Oct. 1). For more information, contact Juli Lewis.
