The recently concluded VISION Conference 2023 has left its mark as a transformative event in the southeastern credit union space. The conference, hosted by the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU & Affiliates), unfolded with an innovative blend of technology insight, credit union idea sharing, and interactive engagement with industry partners.
Samantha Beeler, President of LSCU, shared, “The inaugural VISION Conference was a resounding success, pioneering the future of the credit union space together and connecting members with the next generation of consumers. We look forward to improving this reimagined conference experience even further in the years ahead.”
Contrary to conventional conferences, the VISION Conference fostered an atmosphere of future-focused exploration. Featuring engaging TED Talk-style presentations and think tank-style roundtables, the event aimed to provide credit union leaders with thought-provoking ideas and innovations that could be practically implemented.
Highlighting the VISION Conference’s commitment to cutting-edge technology and community engagement, special guests from the Magnet Innovation Center (MIC) in nearby Inlet Beach, Florida, participated in the event. The MIC showcased its groundbreaking work in robotics and innovation, aligning with the conference’s emphasis on technological advances within the credit union space.
The VISION Conference’s agenda was brimming with dynamic speakers, exhibitor networking opportunities, and an engaging Shark Tank competition that allowed credit union executives and volunteers to select the winner. Attendees learned about fintech solutions presented by visionary companies, fostering a collaborative atmosphere where credit unions could engage directly with solution providers.
As the conference wrapped up, attendees took away invaluable insights and connections that will undoubtedly shape the future of credit unions across the industry. The success of the Shark Tank session further underscored the eagerness of credit unions to embrace technology.
Speakers Jill Nowacki and Joel Hartzler delivered impactful presentations that illuminated the path to innovation and the expansion of talent pools within credit unions through cross-training, retention, and more. Their insights inspired attendees to embrace agility and diversity as integral aspects of credit union growth. Lee Wetherington joined the group to discuss upcoming trends in the payments space and how credit unions can adapt to meet the needs of consumers. Closing keynote speaker Traci Brown educated attendees on how to interpret body language to identify fraud and deceit.
LSCU is thankful for the support of all the companies who participated, our sponsors, our voting members, and our team for putting on a successful new event.
