LSCU Statement on COVID-19/Coronavirus and Education & Training Events in 2020

The LSCU education team has been closely monitoring the unfolding situation with COVID-19/Coronavirus and is following the available public health guidance to assure our upcoming educational events will be safe and successful. The health and safety of our member credit unions, event attendees, employees, participating exhibitors/sponsors and presenters are a top priority for us. Plans are continuing to move forward with providing our credit unions with educational events in 2020. Currently, we are not cancelling or altering any of our events. Our educational events have strong attendance numbers. We will be continually working with event venues, as well as our vendors and employees, to take appropriate measures to make sure your time with us is safe and successful.

The LSCU education team is continually monitoring the reporting from recognized and authoritative sources listed below for the most accurate information on this situation.

World Health Organization
US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

At this time, most people in the United States will have little immediate risk of exposure to this virus. This virus is NOT currently spreading widely in the United States. This is a rapidly evolving situation and the risk assessment will be updated as needed. We will make decisions regarding our events on a case-by-case basis, making the safety and needs of all stakeholders our top priority.

We also know that federal, state and local leaders and public health providers are working together and sharing guidance to safeguard everyone from exposure to the virus. The LSCU encourages all of its attendees, exhibitors, presenters and guests to continue to follow the prescribed guidance of these authorities, as well as the CDC’s healthy habits to prevent cold/flu.
