Hurricane Matthew is currently impacting eastern Florida’s space coast and is poised to deliver a dangerous combination of storm surge and rainfall flooding, as well as destructive winds into northeast Florida throughout the day. Wind gusts as high as 107 mph have been clocked at Cape Canaveral, and hundreds of thousands are without power at this time. Updates on credit unions closings will be posted throughout the day at CU Closings, and LSCU staff will be reaching out to affected CUs to determine needs and provide resources.
In an effort to meet the needs of our credit unions in times of disaster, the Southeastern Credit Union Foundation (SECUF) has a disaster relief fund available to assist our credit unions, members, employees, volunteers, and the communities that have been impacted. Realizing that many may not have access to computers during and after the storm, we wanted to send a reminder early. Our mobile branch has had a new ATM installed and is ready to deploy. We will remain on alert and will assist in any way we can.
If your credit union branches and/or staff members experience difficulties that require assistance, please reach out to us. SECUF Director Juli Lewis will be the point of contact and may be reached at 850-321-5199.
