The Southeastern Credit Union Foundation (SECUF), the charitable arm of the League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU), has reopened applications for its Community Impact Grant Program. The current round of funding prioritizes support for CDFI (Community Development Financial Institution) Certification, enabling credit unions to expand their reach and enhance their services to underserved communities.
The Community Impact Grant Program, part of the broader Growth and Impact Grant Program, is designed to empower credit unions to make meaningful contributions to their communities. The Community Impact Grant Program focuses on funding initiatives that positively impact local communities, including financial education programs, community development projects, and charitable giving efforts. The Community Impact Grant Program submission deadline has been extended to Monday, September 30.
Additionally, the Professional Development Grant Program is still accepting applications, offering professional development grants year-round to credit union CEOs, employees, board members, and supervisory committee members. These grants allow for participation in educational events organized by LSCU and America’s Credit Unions (formerly the Credit Union National Association (CUNA)). These opportunities support ongoing learning journeys, enhance the understanding of the credit union industry, and foster professional leadership growth. Grant applications are accepted at any time, year-round.
SECUF has allocated a total of $150,000 for the Growth and Impact Grant Program to support credit unions and chapters in their efforts to create a meaningful impact for their staff and volunteers, members they serve, and their communities.
