YP Thank Tank leaves future leaders with important takeaways

Even though LSCU’s 2020 YP Think Tank has passed, the takeaways from this event are still top-of-mind. A special thank you goes to Corporate America Credit Union for the generous sponsorship of this event, allowing young professionals from all Alabama, Florida and Georgia the chance to learn from industry professionals and enhance their leadership skills.

Because we were unable to host 2020’s YP Think Tank in-person, the YP Coordinating Council successfully pivoted to a virtual event. Designed by young professionals, the agenda featured sessions on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, an exclusive discussion with author and CAO at Suncoast Credit Union, Gary Vien, and a virtual networking reception. Attendees also had the option to purchase an exclusive swag bag filled with goodies to benefit the Southeastern Credit Union Foundation.

“As we adapted to the new normal, I completely enjoyed Think Tank. I loved the speakers and took loads of notes,” said Nicole Phillips, marketing manager at Power Financial Credit Union. “The content they delivered was relevant and helpful for me personally, as well as for my credit union. I enjoyed the swag box! The length of the schedule was perfect. Overall, it was a great event. Kalli Shelton’s presentation on Empathy summed up credit unions best: Serving our members is what’s most important.”

Tabatha Cirgenski, YP Coordinating Council Member and inbound marketing specialist at Tropical Financial Credit Union summed up her experience by saying, “I loved the Think Tank! Our presenters gave relevant and thoughtful advice as it relates to working and leading others. They provided real-world scenarios that were easy to relate to, easy to digest and very applicable to YPs.”
